Who We Are
Founded in 2021 by Sizwelibanzi Mondile
Kasi Pet Health and Rescue NPC is a registered non-profit organisation based in Galeshewe, Kimberley, Northern Cape, dedicated to improving the welfare of pets in disadvantaged and underserved communities. Founded in 2021, the organisation was established in response to the deep, persistent challenges faced by pet owners across the Frances Baard District — including limited veterinary access, financial constraints, poor infrastructure, and lack of reliable education around animal care.
Where It All Began
Kasi Pet Health and Rescue was born out of a simple but powerful realisation: pets in disadvantaged communities suffer not because of neglect, but because their owners lack access, resources, and support. Seeing this gap first-hand, the founders set out to build an organisation that brings veterinary services directly to the people — especially in rural and isolated areas — educates communities in a compassionate, non-judgmental way, and creates opportunities for youth and unemployed residents through animal welfare work. Today, Kasi Pet Health and Rescue serves households across four municipalities in the district, providing a lifeline for pets who would otherwise go unseen and untreated.
The organisation is led by a committed team of community-driven individuals:
Chairperson: Sizwelibanzi Mondile
Treasurer: McDonald Obakeng Mofolo
Secretary: Thamsanqa Shylock Seleka
Together, this leadership oversees the organisation’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and support animals while uplifting their owners through education and hands-on community programmes.
